Clinical managers usually have advanced education and experience in the area for which they are responsible. Department managers in large hospitals typically have master’s degrees in health services administration. Managers of health information often have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program and are Registered Health Information Administrators (RHIA), a certification awarded by the American Health Information Management Association.
